Painting a forest waterfall while listening to Hildegard Von Bingen, on a rainy day in late November = Transcendental.
This piece, for a couple living in the mountains of western North Carolina, is getting close to being finished. I haven’t done anything like it in quite awhile and it’s been fun reactivating those synapses. A strong composition plan is important before starting something like this, but I leave plenty of room for improvisation and sometimes things get out of balance (like now). But solving the puzzle and nailing down the details is part of the satisfaction.
